MUTSUKO AZAI
Azai specializes in crafting pottery that combines a modern artistic style with traditional patterns. She applies a base of white slip and utilizes scraping techniques to intricately carve animal and floral motifs, resulting in distinctive textures and refined craftsmanship. Through her work, she skillfully conveys profound emotions and narratives. In recent years, she has ventured into using varying shades of black glaze, combining them with her unique carving and scraping techniques, to add a personal and distinctive touch to her pottery paintings.
